We did it – Schenna Resort is now officially sustainability certified. This award confirms our commitment to the highest social and environmental standards and marks another milestone on our path to a sustainable future.

Our journey to sustainability

Since July 19th, we have been focusing on making Schenna Resort even more sustainable. From the very beginning, our goal was not only to minimize our ecological footprint but also to take on social responsibility and, together with our employees, suppliers, and guests, make a positive change.

The motto that has inspired us is: “Many small people, in many small places, doing many small things, can change the face of the world.”

Sustainability in focus

For us, sustainability means questioning existing processes, continuously implementing improvements, and creating an environment where everyone involved actively contributes to positive change. This requires creativity, innovation, and the willingness to rethink old habits.

We place particular focus on the following areas:

• Environmental protection: Sustainable resource use, waste reduction, and the use of local products.
• Social responsibility: A respectful and supportive environment for our employees and close cooperation with regional partners.
• Community: Involving our guests, employees, and suppliers in our sustainable efforts.

Highlights of our initiatives

As part of our initiative, we have already successfully implemented numerous changes, including:

• Regional and seasonal cuisine: We increasingly rely on local products, reducing long transportation distances.
• Schenner spring water: By using our own spring water, we reduce plastic waste and minimize environmental impact.
• Employee training: Our teams have been extensively educated about sustainable practices and involved in our efforts.

Certification by the GSTC

We are especially proud of our successful certification by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). This international recognition underscores our commitment to meeting the highest standards in sustainable tourism.
